Kat Fowler is an international teacher, speaker and writer on spirituality, yoga and meditation based in New York City. Through actualizing her passion for living the spiritual path, and sharing her love for holistic healing, eastern philosophy, western psychology, yoga and meditation, Kat inspires her students towards the discovery of their highest self.
Kat was born into a life of spirituality and meditation; her parents met in an ashram on their spiritual path. Since birth, Kat was raised as a vegetarian (now she practices veganism) and was connected to yoga philosophy, eastern spirituality, meditation and holistic health. She learned meditation through her family's guru at age 14; while at college, she specialized in year-long courses of Yoga Philosophy, Hindu Philosophy, Taoism, the Bhagavad Gita, Buddhist Studies, and Eastern Religions under Dr. Edwin Bryant and started practicing yoga at age 19. Kat began teaching yoga at 21 and soon after traveled to India to study meditation in depth at age 22. Since then she has taken over 15 yoga teacher trainings; specializing in the eastern classical elements of yoga, along with physiology, anatomy and therapeutics. In addition to her training in classical eastern yoga and meditation, Kat has additional training in Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, psychology, holistic nutrition (including homeopathy,) aromatherapy, divination, crystal therapy and energy healing. Integrating her upbringing of spirituality and years of dedicated study and teaching, Kat's approach is educational, inspirational and informative. She teaches classes and workshops formatted for students of all levels, as she believes yoga and spirituality should be available for everyone. Kat's teaching methodology is rooted in the true embodied knowledge of the practice that comes from a lifetime of personal experience.
